PIR Special

GAMBLE & HUFF: THE MUSIC AND THE MESSAGE
(working title)

This new one-hour special looks back on 2008 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff, their work at Philadelphia International Records, and their lasting influence they've had on their home city's music and culture.

The show will include the stories behind songs like "Backstabbers," "Love Train," and other PIR hits, some rare tracks, and interviews with the label's best known artists. Gamble and Huff will also discuss their community and housing projects around Philadelphia.

It's currently in production and should be ready to air by the weekend of Feb 22, in time for the end of Black History Month. It will also be timely for early March around their Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction on March 10.

Please contact andy.cahn@sonybmg.com if you are interested in this program and we will remind you as soon as it's ready.
